From Knives to Medals project makes the BBC News
The project brought together a group of professionals: Michael McLean, Dele Adebola of Strike 9 Training, Georgina Johnstone from the West Midlands Police (WMP), Kevin Shoemake from the Birmingham Football Association and Colin Whorton from the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills (ECMS). Colin from the ECMS was approached with a visionary proposal: transform handed in knives into sports medals.
The fantastic work between all involved has now made BBC News. This is great promotion of the work The National Foundry Training Centre (NFTC), based in Tipton, can offer, who are part of Wolverhampton University. It really does showcase the work that goes on at the NFTC and how they have worked closely with the West Midlands Police to help make changes in the local communities.
