About CoE SLAM
Centre of Excellence for Shaped Laser Additive Manufacturing (CoE SLAM) at the University of Wolverhampton is advancing research in cutting edge processes and materials such as beam shaping and high performance metals like copper to drive innovation in design and manufacturing across multiple sectors.
Developed in strategic partnership with global leaders in 3D printing, EOS and AMCM, the Centre represents a significant milestone in the UK’s additive manufacturing (AM) landscape. This collaboration provides unique access to state of the art technologies and systems, enabling the development and optimisation of advanced AM processes and materials for high demand applications in sectors including automotive, aerospace, electronics and quantum computing.
Partially funded by the UK’s Regional Innovation Fund (RIF), the Centre is housed within the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills (ECMS) at the University’s Springfield Campus. It serves as a dynamic hub for knowledge exchange, applied research and commercialisation, supporting local, regional and international industry partners through collaborative innovation and skills development.
